Mining is a lottery with a bill
Bitcoin’s is a race to find a number that makes the page’s fingerprint sit under a target. Hashcash (Adam Back, 1997) used that burn against spam. Bitcoin pointed it at who may write the next page. A miner is not a company we will name as a pick. A mining firm’s share can go to zero while Bitcoin still prints a page.

The winner proposes the page and collects the subsidy plus fees. Everyone else burned electricity and time. That burn is the bill that makes a quiet rewrite expensive. A bill is not a reason only goes up. A bill is not a ticket we will sell you.
Pools exist because a lone machine wins rarely. A pool is a shop that splits the lottery. Shops can fail, cheat, or pause. “Decentralized mining” is a speech until you name who actually found the hundred pages.
This classroom will not host a miner, sell a plug-in box, or “cloud ” you a . If a page offers a classroom mining contract, it is not us. Close it.
